We recently celebrated my mom's birthday and overall, it was a wonderful experience. The food was absolutely delicious, with each dish impressively crafted and bursting with flavor. The service was great, adding to the positive dining experience.

The restaurant boasts a very urban and trendy vibe, which we loved. The ambience was wonderful, making it a perfect spot for special occasions or just a nice night out.

However, there were two things that annoyed us. First, a waitress told us that our 2-hour limit was over, even though it hadn't been two hours and we weren't aware of any time limit. This was a bit frustrating, but the situation was quickly rectified by another staff member at the front. She was extremely apologetic and genuinely showed she cared, which we appreciated.

Secondly, they knew we had brought a cake, but it was served without any utensils or plates, which was inconvenient.

Despite these small issues, we had a fantastic time and would definitely return. Highly recommend!

This is by far the best Chinese food I’ve had in the DMV. Everything was fresh tasting. The service was excellent. My favorite dish was the crispy beef-wonderful flavor and texture. Don’t miss checking this place out. Perfect for a date night

100/10! Truly a fantastic experience! I'd been meaning to try this place for ages and finally made it last weekend. They don't accept reservations for parties less than 5 people, so be mindful of the wait time and come early or wait. It's a small place and they fill up fast. The vibe is fantastic- great music, friendly staff, chic furnishings. We chatted with the friendly owner and enjoyed our corner table.
Our cocktails were good, not great, they were extremely strong and not super flavorful. My husband had the Old Fashioned and I had the Black Emperors Negroni. I look forward to trying the Lychee Pearl drink next time which looked delicious.
The real stand out was the food! We got the Dan Dan Noodles as an appetizer and they were absolutely amazing - spicy, filled with sesame and cucumber and chili oil and so delicious!
We also ordered the Mapo Tofu and the Kung Pao Bean Curd as mains. The Mapo tofu was good, but the bean curd was phenomenal- the best I've ever had. It was crispy, spicy and sweet and savory and the celery and chili peppers in the sauce was incredibly flavorful too. I can't wait to go back and order it again. Portions are generous, and we took our leftovers home to feast on next day. I truly appreciated having so many incredibly delicious vegetarian options on the menu, which is extremely rare at a Chinese restaurant, and couldn't have asked for more. I can't recommend this place enough, go check them out!

THIS PLACE IS A VIBE! Right out of the gate you’re blessed with an intimate setting with amazing music, lighting, and a magnificent bar. The service? Immaculate. Food? Astoundingly delicious. Definitely come hungry. Call ahead if you have groups of 5 or more because seating is limited. Coming from Richmond, I would ALMOST say that I would just come up here for the food and the experience, without any other valid reason. It’s that good. Don’t hesitate. COME EAT HERE.

My friends and I had a great dinner here! The vibes were flawless with great mood lighting, chill music, and cozy decor! The staff was very friendly, patient and helpful with the menu! Shoutout the excellent bartender! We ordered a great spread of food along with some nice cold sake.

We started off with the spring rolls, fried chicken bao, and the crab rangoon. The bao buns were huge and very filling. The spring rolls and crab rangoon were also nicely sized and very tasty. I would definitely recommend these staples as appetizers.

For our meals we ordered the Imperial Rolls (waiter's recommendation) which was a solid portion for 1 or to share. These were on the spicier side, which I prefer.

We also had the Sticky Crispy Beef which was exactly as the name states, it was on the sweeter side but paired nicely with the rice.

Then we had two orders of the General Tso which was perfectly cooked and seasoned! Also went great with the rice.

Lastly, I had the Map Tofu with added pork and extra spice! The tofu had a nice springy texture while still being soft and it was marinated nicely, providing plenty of flavor and spice.

Overall, we had a great experience at Songbird! 10/10 recommend for dining in, hanging at the bar, or carry out!

My friends and I had an amazing time at Songbird. The wonderful man who created the cocktail list was our waiter and spent tons of time with us explaining the menu. This was a super fun vibe, we will definitely be back. Great cocktails, great food. 10/10

We had a wonderful dining experience at this excellent Chinese restaurant in Fairfax that we recently discovered. From the outside, one cannot imagine how tastefully decorated it is inside. However, once we entered, we were transported to a stylish modern Chinese restaurant with red accents in the decor, lanterns hanging from the ceiling, and wood tones and jade colors harmoniously combined with gold backdrops. The restaurant offers classic American Chinese cuisine and Japanese food, and we were delighted with our food. We enjoyed warm and delicious egg-drop and hot & sour soups to warm up. The Pu Pu Platter, with its assortment of finger foods, was fantastic and made even better by the fire heater in the center that kept the food warm while we ate. The Moo Shu Pork was perfectly seasoned and tasted great with the flour pancakes, and cabbage gave the crunchiness to this savory dish. And the famous General Tso's Chicken was delightful, with a balanced combination of sweetness, a slight hint of vinegar, and just enough spiciness to make it incredible. Our server provided excellent and attentive service, making our dining experience enjoyable.
We look forward to returning soon to try more delicious dishes on the menu.

This place is an absolute gem. The vibe is incredible, the staff is friendly and entertaining and the food is truly exceptional. Have not been let down by a single menu item yet and don’t expect to. A surprise additional hit is the drink menu which has some of the best drinks we’ve ever had hands down.
