Director is so rude as soon as I walked in there everything was about money money money I just had questions about the newly accepted ELC that my son has (elc is recently accepted there) and I told her I have my awarded scholarship and she just shut me down and made it clear that those 2 aren’t enough to cover tuition and everything has to be paid upfront by the parent. And she told me that my kid has to sit and listen and follow direction as if she’s working with normal children. My son with autism was there and fed off her negative energy and he started having a melt down upon leaving we were unwanted and we both felt that. Place deserves 0 starts. Plus I was skeptical because I heard they throw kids in a padded room to calm down instead of working with them

I recommend Puzzle Box Academy (Palm Bay Campus) for any child with or without diagnosis of autism. This is the first school my daughter went to and she gets her ST, OT and ABA all in one location. The staff are great and will work with you. I put my daughter in puzzle box late 2023 she is non-verbal, autistic and not potty trained. Early 2024 they were able to potty train her and she has zero accidents. (We now travel with a toddler toilet in our trunk ) Today 5/3/2024 picking up my daughter from school she got in the car waved and said Hi. Best decision I’m signing up my son as well

We have been with Puzzle Box Academy for over a year now and have nothing but positive things to say! Thank you all so much for everything you do for my child! We have seen nothing but progress, milestones being met and reaching goals, so I will continue to praise this school for the rest of my life!

My daughter has attended puzzlebox for the last year and a bit. It has been amazing for her. My daughter had been to another special needs school plus an ESE classroom in public school . None of these options were a good fit and looked long and hard for a school that could accommodate my child's needs. They worked with my insurance company and my McKay scholarship to make it affordable for my child to attend. I would not send my child to a school that I didn't have ? percent faith in . Keep up the good work puzzlebox. You guys are amazing .

We have been at this school going on 4 years. There have a lot of changes since the school first opened. With that being said, it was all for the better. My son has become the person I knew he had inside of him. He has excelled in many areas where he once was very deficient. This is not the place for everybody. It has to be a good fit for both family and school. It's a relationship that everyone has to contribute to. It is hard work for all parties involved but the payoff has been awesome for us. I have no issues with the teachers or BCBA's. His teacher now has been with him since day 1 in some capacity and we are truly grateful.

Puzzle Box has been an absolute blessing for my son. He is not the same boy he used to be. He is a more confident, happier version of himself. He has had excellent teachers and therapists. I love the fact he can get the therapy he needed incorporated at the school and how it can be applied within his classroom on a daily basis there.He was miserable at public school and I did not feel he was valued there. His needs were not being met. He is thriving here and has friends that he did not have at public school because of the issues he was struggling with. If I ever needed something addressed concerning my child my voice was heard and it was and is quickly addressed. This is our third year here and we continue to come here because my son is thriving. I thank God for the growth I see in him and I know Puzzle Box Academy has played a big part in that.

Lindsey is definitely the kindest staff member I’ve met and so easy to talk to, always very accommodating and goes out of her way to make sure you and your little one are comfortable.
My son was diagnosed with severe autism at 3yrs old. Barley verbal. But now, he is like a different kid! And switching him to this school, I feel I have seen a change in him (in so many ways) that I wouldn’t have seen if I had kept him in regular/mainstream school. His teacher at his old school was very honest in telling me that they wouldn’t be able to give him the accommodations he needs & deserves, that PBA could provide. My son pediatrician is another who suggested Puzzle box. So that’s who we chose! With all the amazing people that work there, and the special tools & techniques they use to get through to these kids and make learning fun (and just a little bit easier), I just can’t imagine what things would be like had we never switched to puzzle box academy.!

My son is 5yo with autism and apraxia. I filled out all necessary intake paperwork including complete history and additional details about how to redirect and calm him down if he is nervous or scared. The evaluation for intake consideration was two transactions one for $150 and the other for $500. I paid and happily signed the non refundable fee. Within 30 minutes or less the school called me while I was in the parking lot to let me know My son was finished. The principal advised me that he did well and said I would be contacted the following day 8/6/21 to review the evaluation results. I was not contacted until Tuesday 8/10/21 to be advised that my son was not a good fit for puzzle box academy. Likely just enough time for the funds to clear and that’s per the bank. I understand not everyone is to be accepted and that’s fine. My problem is with the results of he evaluation that we’re conveyed to me. I was advised my son did not score as needed in most areas, could only recognize 2 letters of the alphabet, some assessments could not be taken and he became aggressive kicking and throwing himself onto the floor. First off my son knows his entire alphabet, most of the sounds the letters make, sight words, numbers, shapes etc.. don’t lie to me! Why weren’t these details conveyed at pick up when I questioned on 8/5/21? Why was I not contacted? On the contrary I was told everything went well with a smile! As an autistic child that cannot produce intelligible speech regularly there was clearly no consideration put forth regarding it having been his first time there with those people and clearly no patience. I trusted puzzle box to support him and build a rapport so he could successfully take the evaluation without me present. Big mistake. My son sees professional therapists 4 days a week and they also contest these results are a glimpse and not accurate. It is a disgusting scheme to prey on children in need and charge their families the outrageous fee they do considering how you practice without professionalism or respect. I have and will file as many complaints and reviews as I can in the hopes it helps other families save their money for a facility that is actually in it to help our children. Read all the reviews like I wish I would have. I want to also mention that after all my frustration and appeal the principle called me this morning to “explain” the assessments and offer me a pre-k spot that has magically opened for him. It’s sad because I couldn’t trust you with my child for 30 mins let alone a full school day.
